Terms and conditions

These terms apply to every order with Andante Genealogy, Andreas Kyburz, Kreuzlingerstrasse 55, 8570 Weinfelden, Switzerland (“we”).

1. What we deliver

A family history: your ancestors, as far as the accessible sources reach, with the stories we find in old newspapers and registers. Every fact carries its source and a confidence level that says how certain it is. Both packages deliver:

  • a private family website in five languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese), which stays online; you and the relatives you invite through your account have access;
  • a printable family book as a PDF, in one of these languages, the one you choose;
  • a personal note from us;
  • a copy for home (the website offline, plus the data as GEDCOM) and prepared letters to archives.

Basis searches the freely accessible sources. Max adds research on paid platforms (for example Archion, Ancestry), the side branches, that is your ancestors’ siblings and their families, the correspondence with archives in your name (the archives’ fees are yours) and the entry of every person found into an online family tree of your choice; an existing tree is extended.

How many generations we find depends on the sources. We do not promise a number. Not included: research on living people and DNA analysis; in Basis, no requests to archives in your name either.

2. Price and payment

Prices apply in the chosen currency: Basis CHF/EUR/USD 99 or GBP 79, Max CHF/EUR/USD 249 or GBP 199. Prices include VAT where it is due. Payment runs through Stripe (card; in Swiss francs also TWINT). The contract is formed with the payment.

3. Your account and your details

With your order you get a customer account on this website. There, after paying, you enter what you know about the family, upload family papers and photos if you like, write to us and read our answers, follow the progress, find the delivery and the invoice at the end, and invite relatives. By entering your details you confirm that you may share these names. We research deceased people only; living people appear by name only, and only in the part of the website that you and the relatives you invited can see.

4. Delivery and delivery time

Delivery goes into your account on this website: as soon as everything is ready, we send you an email with the link. There you open the website and download the book, the GEDCOM file and the letters to archives. We send nothing by post.

We deliver within four weeks. If your details show that almost nothing could be found, we tell you and refund the amount.

5. Right of withdrawal

If you live in the EU or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a contract made online within 14 days. Because we start the research at your request right after payment, this right ends once the family history has been delivered in full. You confirm this when you order, with a checkbox at checkout. Swiss law has no such right for online purchases.

6. Corrections

If your family knows better than the records, we correct it free of charge for as long as the website is online.

7. Vouchers

Vouchers never expire. They are good for one family history in the package they were bought for and are redeemed when ordering on this website. The person who redeems gets the account, enters the family details and receives the delivery. Vouchers are not paid out in cash.

8. Public online family trees

Online family trees such as FamilySearch, Geni or WikiTree are public. We enter deceased people there only, and only if you have expressly allowed it in your details. Living people never go into a public tree. The tree itself is governed by the rules of its provider.

9. If we ever stop

If we stop operating, your website stays online for at least twelve months after our notice, so that you can download everything. You have the copy for home from the start anyway. Open vouchers are honoured or refunded in that case.

10. Liability

We work carefully, but sources can be wrong or missing. We are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of the family history. Liability is limited to the amount paid, as far as the law allows.

11. Law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies. Place of jurisdiction is Weinfelden; mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain reserved.

Status: 7 November 2026.
